'Watch The Throne'

The throne has gotten bigger, apparently. Jay-Z and Kanye has now made Watch The Throne, a full album! Kanye West made the statement this past New Years at Marquee nightclub during his "Runaway" in Las Vegas that the album could be dropped as early as next week. And tonight, he assured that the CD will be dropping next week in a tweet/twitpic (@KanyeWest). However there are rumors that the album will be dropping in early March. Whether it be a single or an album dropping next week I'm sure it's highly anticipated by many, so patiently we wait !!

New Years at the Marquee

While the MOB girls were out partying in the city, Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna gave it up at Marquee Night Club. Jay-Z perform at the Grand Opening of the Cosmopolitan Resort with ColdPlay. He also brought out his little brother Kanye to perform "Runaway". At the new resort he booked 50 rooms for him and his entourage. Yep HOV is way pasted "BALLIN!"

Sneak Preview for Kanye West Monster

A little disturbing but he definitely gave a full understanding of the song, MONSTER ! This reminds me of Thriller, but of course nothing can fully compare to MJ's work. From the corpse of a half naked women, to Rick Ross blowing his cigar smoke to the hanging beautiful women. YES, weird we know ! No word on when the song's full music video will debut, or whether or not Bon Iver, who sings the spooky intro, gets in on the "Monster" mash.

Interview Magazine, Kanye West interviewed Rihanna. Next to an in-depth bio of the successful singer, Kanye West digs deep into the world of Rihanna in the interview.


Kanye West: Whuzup?


Rihanna: Hey. How are you?


Kanye West: I’m good. I’m just out here in this retarded-ass studio- Peter Gabriel’s studio.


Rihanna: Where? In London?


Kanye West: Yeah. Like two hours out.


Rihanna: That’s dope. You-all working on the new album?


Kanye West: Yeah. Well, it’s a me and Jay album. Right now, I’m sit ting here going through some Lex Luger beats. This whole album, Watch The Throne, is going to be very dark and sexy- like very couture hip-hop. Because since me and Jay have already had big records and over-the-top joints, we’re just going to make some real dirty, fucked-up, hardcore stuff. But it’s also luxe and definitely high-class. So let’s start with my favorite thing. Rihanna, what’s your take on fashion? How has it evolved since the start of your career?


Rihanna: Well, I would say that in the beginning of my career, I didn’t have a lot of input in what I wore and stuff, but it was a very, innocent, girly look. Then after we put out Good Girl Gone Bad, it kind of became a darker, edgier look, and then it got even edgier on the last album [Rated R]. And now it’s just . . . I’m over the whole structured clothing, overly shoulder-padded shit. I like stuff that’s easy without trying too hard. I don’t like stuff that’s too contrived.


Kanye West: So what’s your next look? Where do you see yourself a year from now?


Rihanna: I probably see a lot of menswear, or something extremely, extremely feminine. But I like to play with both. It would have to be so extreme that it’s a look, because I don’t usu ally like typical ladylike, girly-girly stuff. It would be a look if I were to do it. I always like something that’s a little off, so it’s just not typical or expected.


Kanye West:When you make songs, do you think about what you’re going to wear when you’re performing them? Does it directly relate to the music in that way?


Rihanna: I think not so much about what I’m going to wear yet, but when I make songs or make music, I do always think about the video. The video always plays in my head while I’m lis tening to the song.


Kanye West: So why did you call your new album Loud?


Rihanna: Because I feel like it was a really fun, expressive album, and loud was the perfect word to symbolize that. It’s aggressive at times, but in a really fun way-just the overall energy of it. Even the energy when we were making the album was really expressive and rebellious, but fun. We had fun the whole time. And you hear it when you listen to the songs. They feel really good.


Kanye West: Do you have a vulnerable side? Because in a lot of the sin gles that come out, you’re like, “What’s my name, muthafucka?” or “I’m a murderer.”


Rihanna: Yes, I do have a vulnerable side. I think a lot of peo ple have a misperception of me. They only see the tough, defen sive, aggressive side. But every woman is vulnerable. They have vulnerability. So of course I’m going to have that side. It’s not a major part of who I am, but it’s definitely there. I just don’t like people to see me cry-I don’t like to let them know when I’m bothered. You know? I just prefer it to be all about business, and then whatever I’m dealing with, let me deal with that alone, because I don’t want it to affect anything in my professional life.


Kanye West: So a year from now, Rihanna could have a little shorty with little high-tops? [Rihanna laughs] What will Rihanna’s kids be like?


Rihanna: If I had a girl, she’d probably be really rebellious. She would be like a bundle of karma.

On Blogs Influence And The Way He Chooses To Dress


When I was at the Grammy’s right when I got exposed to blogs, it was like the worst thing that could have ever happened to me. Do you remember this outfit that I had? When I had on these glasses, like these really cool shades on and my chest was out with all these chains and stuff…. I was like this is what I want to do and then the next day I so these blogs was like he was wearing gloves and he had this.. Basically tried to comprise me and beat me into the submission of regular walking down the streetness. I can’t do that anymore. I don’t base my taste level off what the trends are


On Cutting off Taylor Swift


So with the Bush moment there was a lack of compassion that we saw and then with my moment…Taylor this 12 year old…18 year-old girl… me cutting her off showed a lack of compassion with everything she went [through] to deserve this one moment. That caused her to like go off and have 100 magazine covers and sell million in the first week. That shouldn’t even be categorized with the greatest living artist that we have to date to be put in the same category. It’s just disrespectful, it’s retarded! For me, you can see the amount of work that we put into this…I put my entire life into this…I put my life on the line…


It’s like what’s so arrogant about that moment? If anything, it’s selfless. If anything, I’m walking around now with half an arm trying to sell albums, and having to go in walk in rooms and be afraid of my food getting spit in. I’ve lost all totally respect for you! And no one just wants to sit and look at the reality. Let’s just look at the 2+2=4 Okay it’s the best album; it’s the best video of the decade. The most influential, the most memorable…you can’t tell me anything that we remember more in the past ten years.


So the audacity of it losing anything, anything. It should be like Lauryn Hill, she won all those Grammy’s and she couldn’t lose. Guaranteed if it was the other way around and Taylor Swift was 12-15 years into the game and on her 40th video or a 50th video and she made the video of her career….do you think she would have lost to a brand new artist? Hell No!


More on cutting off Taylor Swift


The idea of cutting someone off at an award show…I didn’t know that was so new. I didn’t know it was the first time you know that the music ever played on someone. If you take The Dream, who wrote Single Ladies at the Grammy’s, as soon as he wanted to say something they completely played the music before he could say “Hi” to his mom or anything.


So there’s no reality to the situation but then also, what I learned is there is no reality to celebrity and because of everything that I’ve been through, it’s lead me to the point to be able to be way more an expressive artist. Deal with way more reality. You can’t anything away from me at this point. Canceling tours. I was touring with Lady Gaga. I completely lost everything but I completely gained everything because I lost the fear.

On Homophobia


I feel like I’m a crusader of opening people’s minds because in America to have taste….the way we bash people, the way we call people gay if they look in the mirror too long. Not that it’s anything wrong with people being gay, ….. taste has been thrown in the shallow box, like your shallow if you’re into putting yourself together better or if you want to take time to actually look at a black and white movie as opposed to looking at a bunch of explosions and you can’t be masculine to do that… but if you look at Fellini films and back in the day, men use to get suited up. It’s almost like you’re borderline not masculine if you don’t open the door for a woman.


On The Concept of EGo


Now I’ve finally cracked out of the shell and you can see when I talk, it’s not really that same joke of like the ego and arrogance and the dumb cocky sh*t I use to say. I’m really pass the concept of ego. My whole thing is, I really just want to help people by bringing levels of culture, ballerinas and crashing them right next to hip hop. How can we take this to how Michael took it or even take it further. In music we respect the past so much ……If Steve Jobs respected the first computer so much, we wouldn’t have ipads and iphones today.


Forgive me for using grandiose political comparisons. Just as Mandela blew up the buildings and eventually became president, sometimes contrary to popular opinion you have to blow up the buildings. You have to make a change. If you could see the emotion in Justin’s face when he lost to the Dixie Chicks and Cee-lo was sitting right next to him..the row crazy. I couldn’t even tell you that they won for. I have nothing against the Dixie Chicks, it was just wrong though…it was so incorrect. Why should you care about that when you’re a musician? But Kobe cares if they deduct 12 points that he just put in the basket….

Kanye West "Runaway"

Kanye West is changing the views of Hip-Hop and bringing it back to life! In his new film directed by himself, Mr. West debuts some of his (mastered) song from his new album said to release November 22nd. The video stars himself(of course) and his wonderful lady Seleta Ebanks. I loved the short film from the ballet dancers, how graceful Ms. Ebanks was and the hard work he put into this film. Overall this was remarkable Ye' . . BRAVO !

Models of Christian Dior Denim Flow

Kanye West brings us every Friday a G.O.O.D. Friday and provides us with free G.O.O.D Music. About two Friday's ago he gave us Christian Dior Denim Flow featuring Kid Cudi, Pusha T, Ryan Leslie, and (surprisingly) Lloyd Banks. In Kanye's verse he names 21 model, I guess you can say he's the inly rapper who can do that. K.W. I just like diamond teeth and I didn’t feel like having to take them out all the time.


L.R: Looking back on last year’s MTV Awards, when you interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech—you said Beyoncé was robbed, and a lot of us agreed with you. How do you feel about it now?


K.W: Well, it was very punk rock and revolutionary and idealistic and very angry in a way. But the timing was in poor taste. And the other two things I’ve learned since then are humility and empathy—to be empathetic to other people’s feelings. To care about how much this must mean to someone else, and not to think that my ideals or my righteousness are more important than someone else’s feelings.


L.R. You’ve had a tough time since the death of your mother, in 2007. Even though you’re always in recording studios, this past year you retreated from the spotlight. How are you these days?


K.W. Extremely happy. And you know … people obviously know I lost my mother, and it was shocking. On one hand, I never really dealt with the loss, but in not dealing with the loss, I also didn’t completely deal with the responsibilities that my mother used to take. She was such an amazing, well-rounded person, and I was a spoiled brat.

Kanye West always out does himself, just when you think he isn't going to come back hard, he always comes harder (PAUSE). This past Saturday on Saturday Night Live he came on the show. SURPRISE ?? Yes we all are, after in his song, Power " Fuck SNL and the whole, tell em' Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass " I honestly think they wouldn't let in on the show let alone give him to opportunity to perform two songs. Overall the performance was " so Kanye " very big, flashy. He even wore the infamous infared suit, Even brought out Pusha T.

If last year you said Kanye is never making a comeback after to what he did to Taylor Swift, your wrong, because he came back even harder. Now he covers XXL of October. In this issue he speaks on apologizing to Taylor the young country singer (I'm sure none of us seen that coming).


When I moved to LA, she moved to LA/ And she wound up in a place that would eat her alive. Even if I stayed in New York, it wouldn’t have been like that. If I had lived in New York, she’d still be here.


On realizing his mistake

On apologizing to his fans

I’m sorry.’ Not that I don’t deserve to get beat up or change who I am inside, to make sure that that doesn’t happen again.”

Jay-Z host GQ x Rocawear Event

You would've thought Jay-Z would be tired by now, attending Fashion Night Out, with performing at two sold out shows, and partying at the 40/40. HOV is just never going to stop! Last night Jay made the city "Light Up" at Provacateur a club in Manhttan's MeatPacking District by hosting GQ's event. Jay teamed up with GQ to show off his new and improved line of RocaWear. This is great, can you say Rosewood movement ?


"People listen to all different sorts of music," he said. "People are inspired by all different walks of life and culture. It just is what it is. For people to try to put it in these segments, I don't think that's fair. Like people saying I couldn't play Glastonbury all over again. It's back to that again, you know what I'm saying?"
