When celebrity designer Tom Ford unveiled his collection at the ongoing New York Fashion Week, he got R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to walk the ramp. The designer who banned photographers from his invites-only show, had earlier revealed that the theme of the show is, "Every woman is a celebrity".
Ford described the high-wattage models, who also included actress Julianne Moore, socialite Daphne Guinness and catwalk queen Chanel Iman, as "the world''s most inspirational women", reported New York Post.
The new Spring/Summer collection is Ford''s first womanswear collection in six years. Ford, the former Gucci and YSL designer, personally narrated the show. Although access to the refined affair was so private that only one photographer was present and no photos were released, some lucky guests took to Twitter to provide a glimpse of what is one the most talked about events of New York Fashion Week.
"Tom Ford gorgeousness: silk fringe gown, crisp tuxedos in blk and white, leopard pantsuits, corsets under peekaboo gowns and lace kneeboots(sic)" tweeted Elle creative director Joe Zee.
The designer has banned any photos from being released before January 2011 for fear that the designs may get copied.
